Teaching Assistant focuses on supporting pupils with semh needs in lessons and structured activities.

What the role involves

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in lessons and structured activities.
• Assisting the class teacher in maintaining a calm and supportive classroom environment.
• Use de-escalation strategies and consistent routines to support behaviour.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support engagement and learning.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

Skills and requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour support skills.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Confirmed role details

• £460 – £600 per week.
• Full-time, long-term / Day-to-day.
