SEMH Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant focuses on provide 1:1 and small group support for students with semh needs.
What the role involves
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Supporting behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies.
- Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
- Assisting students in engaging with classroom activities and routines.
- Maintaining safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe environment.
Skills and requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
