Teaching Assistant focuses on provide 1:1 and small group support for students with semh needs.

What the role involves

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Supporting behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies.
  • Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
  • Assisting students in engaging with classroom activities and routines.
  • Maintaining safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe environment.

Skills and requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
