What the role involves

  • Deliver engaging and adapted lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to behaviour management.
  • Differentiate effectively for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Report on pupil progress.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Skills and requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils (primary age preferred).
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs.
