SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
This Teaching Assistant opportunity is built around providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, SEMH and/or ADHD. It would suit someone who can bring supporting learners through a calm, structured classroom routine to the role.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Help pupils access the curriculum through tailored and creative approaches.
Where someone would start
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, SEMH and/or ADHD. Supporting children to regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively. Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
What helps someone build confidence
Supporting learners through a calm, structured classroom routine. Are calm, empathetic and resilient under pressure. Some pupils may display challenging behaviour, so patience, consistency and strong relationship-building skills are essential.
What is expected
- Have experience working with children with ASD, SEMH or ADHD (school, PRU, alternative provision, youth work, care or support settings).
- Experience with EHCPs, behaviour plans or interventions.
- All candidates must be willing to undergo enhanced DBS checks and provide suitable references in line with safeguarding requirements.
Job details
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
- Long-term / Short-term / Day-to-Day (Flexible).
- Primary Schools (Local placements).
