Teaching Assistant focuses on provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a variety of sen, including asd, adhd, communication difficulties, and learning needs.
What the role involves
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and learning needs.
- Assisting pupils in achieving targets outlined in their individual learning plans.
- Adapt classroom resources and activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and outside agencies to provide consistent support.
- Help create a safe, organised, and inclusive classroom setting.
Skills and requirements
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is preferred.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude.
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional learning needs.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
