Teaching Assistant focuses on as a sen teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the senco to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.

What the role involves

  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assisting in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
  • Supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
  • Help pupils access lessons and stay engaged.

Skills and requirements

  • Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.

Candidate fit

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
