Teaching Assistant focuses on provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with send.

What the role involves

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs where required.
  • Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all children at all times.

Skills and requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), either in a school or similar setting.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Vision for Education.
