SEN Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant focuses on delivering consistent 1:1 support for pupils with sen, particularly those with asd and high support needs.
What the role involves
- Delivering consistent 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD and high support needs.
- Assisting pupils in engaging with learning activities tailored to their individual development levels.
- Apply structured strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
- Work in collaboration with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to follow personalised learning plans.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Skills and requirements
- At least 1 year of experience supporting children with ASD presenting high-level additional needs.
- Recent experience working within a primary or secondary school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide focused 1:1 SEN support effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
Confirmed role details
- £95-£110 per day (depending on experience).
- Long-term, Full-time.
- 8.15 AM -3.45 PM.
