SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant focuses on delivering consistent 1:1 support for pupils with sen, particularly those with asd and high support needs.

What the role involves

• Delivering consistent 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD and high support needs.
• Assisting pupils in engaging with learning activities tailored to their individual development levels.
• Apply structured strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
• Work in collaboration with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to follow personalised learning plans.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Skills and requirements

• At least 1 year of experience supporting children with ASD presenting high-level additional needs.
• Recent experience working within a primary or secondary school environment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide focused 1:1 SEN support effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, patient, and adaptable approach.

Confirmed role details

• £95-£110 per day (depending on experience).
• Long-term, Full-time.
• 8.15 AM -3.45 PM.
