SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
The Teaching Assistant position in West London centres on use de-escalation techniques and structured interventions to support children’s emotional regulation. It would suit someone who can bring be confident working with children who have autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or complex learning needs to the role.

Use de-escalation techniques and structured interventions to support children’s emotional regulation. Assisting in classroom management, ensuring all pupils are engaged and safe. Supporting communication and social skills development, including emotional regulation and conflict resolution.

- Staff receive ongoing training in SEN, behaviour management, safeguarding, and therapeutic interventions.
- Creativity and engagement: Using creative teaching strategies, sensory activities, and adaptive technologies to meet diverse learning styles.
- Collaboration: Close partnerships with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes.
- SEN-specific training, including autism awareness, ADHD strategies, speech and language support, and sensory interventions.
What needs to be in place
- Hold or be willing to obtain relevant SEN or TA qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, NVQ).
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally in primary or secondary school settings.
- Relevant teaching, instruction, or learner-support experience.
