SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
The Teaching Assistant position centres on providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs. It would suit someone who can bring warm, reliable, and clear in communication to the role.
How the role is set up
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – training available for those without this qualification. Year 6 SEN TA – Delivering intervention support for a child to help close gaps in learning.
Where someone would start
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs. Monitoring and report on pupil progress and engagement. Assisting with the delivery of lessons and interventions in line with EHCP targets.

Warm, reliable, and clear in communication.
What is expected
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a UK classroom setting is desirable.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
- In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Job details
- KS1 SEN TA – Supporting a child with medical needs in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Year 5 SEN TA – Working 1:1 with a child who has an EHCP for global developmental delay.
- The Head Teacher of a welcoming mainstream primary school in Skelmersdale is seeking three committed 3 SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from January 2025.
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only).
