SEND Teaching Assistant
Job description
As a Teaching Assistant, the work centres on play an important role in helping students engage with learning, develop independence, and feel supported in a safe and structured environment. It would suit someone who can bring in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date to the role.
How the role is set up
Relevant training such as Manual Handling, Hoist Training, First Aid, or care-related qualifications is advantageous but not required. Role Available: SEND Teaching Assistant – Havering.

In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
What is expected
- We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including healthcare, social care, residential support, or those with personal experience supporting individuals with SEND.
- Previous school experience is not essential, as the school values a positive attitude, empathy, and a willingness to learn.
- You should be comfortable supporting with personal care when required.
Job details
- This is a full-time opportunity supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, and PMLD.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
- Long-term position with potential for a permanent contract.
- Additional detail: Flexible working options may be available.
