What the role involves
- Also work to protect of the environment and work collaboratively across multiple teams to drive forward environmental performance.
- Ecological Surveys and Monitoring - Provide on-site ecological guidance to contractors and project teams, and conduct walkover surveys, assessments, and species-specific checks.
- Compliance - Support compliance with environmental legislation and demonstration of substantiation of environmental protection equipment.
- Project Support and Coordination - Assist with the planning and coordination of environmental deliverables.
- Support senior ecologists in delivering project objectives.
- Environmental Management Plan - Reviewing and updating the Environmental Management Plan to ensure it is compliant with environmental regulations.
Skills and requirements
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication/interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Experience conducting environmental/ ecological fieldwork and supervising works in sensitive habitats.
- Experience of operating within an environmental management system (EMS) conforming to recognised standards (BS EN ISO14001:2015).
- Ability to prioritise work in a complex and fast-moving project environment with excellent organisational and time management skills.

- Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are understood and implemented. Act as Onsite point of contact for environmental/ ecological.
