Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist focuses on provide day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring, and prioritization guidance to the site ehs specialist while remaining hands-on in site operations.

What the role involves

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring, and prioritization guidance to the site EHS Specialist while remaining hands-on in site operations.
• Maintaining ownership of legal registers, regulatory applicability assessments, and site compliance documentation.
• Leading EHS audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions, including preparation, execution, and closure of findings.
• Overseeing risk assessment programs for manufacturing processes, laboratories, equipment, and new technology introductions, ensuring appropriate controls are defined and implemented.
• Monitor site EHS KPIs, trends, and performance reporting.
• Provide EHS leadership for manufacturing, laboratory, and cleanroom safety programs, including machine safety, laser safety, hazardous gases, and contractor safety.

Skills and requirements

• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility to support occasional nights/weekends and emergency response activities as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience implementing and sustaining HSG65 principles, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

• Ensure delivery of regulatory-required and role-based training programs.
• Provide senior technical leadership to site safety committees and working groups, ensuring effective governance and follow-through on actions.
• Serve as the site EHS lead during emergency events, coordinating response activities and post-incident recovery.
• Ensure site emergency preparedness programs, emergency response teams, drills, and equipment readiness are established and maintained.
