Senior Hydraulic Modeller

Senior Hydraulic Modeller focuses on design teams providing advice and technical support as part of the design of flood defences.

What the role involves

• Design teams providing advice and technical support as part of the design of flood defences.
• Working with other senior staff across the company to develop medium and long term strategies for the developing existing workstreams and identifying areas for expansion for the mo.
• Liaising with clients, hydraulic modellers, project managers and other design and management team members.
• Providing modelling-related technical input to business development activities across the wider company.

Skills and requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering or environmental/earth sciences.
• Chartered status (e.g. ICE, CIWEM) is important to the company and valued by their clients.
• Ability to deliver of innovative solutions to difficult challenges including complex hydraulic problems.
• Understanding and experience of fluvial and surface water flood risk policy and management approaches.

Additional role context

• Has experience in collaborative working, with effective interpersonal skills and able to communicate with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
• Support the development of less experienced team members.
• Is a flexible team player, able to work with different project teams both locally and across remote offices.
