Senior Occupational Therapist
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, the work centres on managing clinical risk within own and delegated patients. It would suit someone who can bring assess patient understanding of proposals to the role.
Where the work sits
Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations or multiple pathologies. Gain valid informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent.
How the role works day to day
Managing clinical risk within own and delegated patients. Represent the Therapy service and/or individual patients at MDT meetings to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated multidisciplinary service. Work as a lone practitioner with telephone support from a senior Occupational Therapist if required.

What needs to be in place
- Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation and discharge plans.
- Experience with community-based pathways is advantageous.
