Senior Protection & Control Engineer

Senior Protection & Control Engineer focuses on review p&c designs and documentation: slds, klds, schematics, gas, schedules, calculations, fds.

What the role involves

• Review P&C designs and documentation: SLDs, KLDs, schematics, GAs, schedules, calculations, FDS.
• Preparing relay configurations and files for deployment.
• Apply IEC 61850 principles including GOOSE messaging and digital substation architectures.
• Supporting SCL file development and system interface reviews.
• Consider OT cyber security requirements aligned with IEC 62443.
• Delivering engineering work packages to agreed time, cost, quality and safety.

Skills and requirements

• Significant experience delivering end‑to‑end P&C engineering solutions in Transmission and/or Distribution.
• Hands‑on experience with GE, Siemens, SEL, Schneider or similar relay platforms.
• Practical experience implementing IEC 61850 (architecture, GOOSE, integration).
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
