Senior Structures Inspector focuses on maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.

What the role involves

• Maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.
• Overseeing the inspection programme and the inspectors’ progress, updating accordingly.
• Liaising with the Roadspace Co-ordinator to ensure roadspace, traffic management and access arrangements are in place.

Skills and requirements

• Ensure Work Package Plans and all RAMS are in place for inspections, giving guidance to inspectors when required.
• Qualified as a Senior Inspector on the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) or working towards qualification with demonstrable evidence of the core competencies required.
• Proficient in planning and undertaking all types of Inspections. Experience in planning traffic management and access equipment.
• Advise others regarding structures inspections.

Confirmed role details

• Flexible and remote working is a central part of our culture.
• Ensure inspections are delivered in-line with standards in the M25 DBFO Contract, The Inspection Manual for Highway Structures, DMRB CS-450 and bespoke guidelines.
• We also actively support staff in achieving corporate membership of relevant institutions.
• The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.

• The Structures Inspection Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Structures Inspection Programme, across all structures in Area 5.
