Job description

Site Services Engineer
Monday to Friday
Over £50,000
Cambridgeshire

Tired of shifts, nights, and weekends?
This is a rare opportunity to move into a Monday to Friday role without sacrificing earnings - offering over a £50,000 salary within a well-invested, forward-thinking manufacturing business.
If you've built your experience within site services, facilities, or utilities engineering and are ready to step into a role with more ownership, stability, and work-life balance, this is one worth exploring.

Why This Role Stands Out
Let's be honest - roles like this don't come up often.

  • Monday to Friday working - get your evenings and weekends back
  • £50,000 salary - strong earning potential without shift work
  • Ownership & autonomy - real scope to influence site standards and improvements
  • Backed by leadership - full support from an experienced Engineering Manager

This is ideal for an engineer looking to transition out of shift work into a more strategic, site-focused position.

The Role
As a Site Services Engineer, you'll take ownership of all site utilities and facilities, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the factory.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing site utilities (refrigeration, steam, HVAC, water systems)
  • Delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across site services
  • Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely, effective repairs
  • Driving improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and sustainability
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality standards
  • Managing contractors and service providers
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, and project work
  • Maintaining engineering records, reports, and COSHH systems
  • Contributing to a strong continuous improvement culture

About the Business
This is a company that genuinely invests in its people.
With a strong reputation within manufacturing, they combine quality, innovation, and modern engineering practices to stay ahead in a competitive market. The site itself is well-maintained, with ongoing investment and a clear focus on continuous improvement.
Engineers here are given the freedom to make decisions, implement change, and develop professionally.

About You

  • Experience within site services, facilities, or utilities engineering
  • Background in manufacturing, food, FMCG, or similar regulated environments
  • Recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship/ONC/HNC or equivalent)
  • Multi-skilled with both mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Strong understanding of utilities (refrigeration, steam, HVAC)
