SEN Teacher focuses on planning and delivering personalised, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with sld and complex needs.

What the role involves

• Planning and delivering personalised, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SLD and complex needs.
• Using multi-sensory teaching approaches, including visual aids, Makaton, PECS, and interactive learning strategies.
• Implementing and reviewing EHCP targets, working closely with SENCOs and external professionals.
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress using appropriate frameworks (e.g. EHCP outcomes, small steps tracking).
• Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider support staff.

Skills and requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable.
• Experience working with pupils with SLD, PMLD, or complex needs (school-based or alternative settings).
• Strong understanding of SEN practices and personalised learning approaches.
• Excellent behaviour management skills, with a calm and nurturing approach.
