What the role involves

• Conduct initial assessments of safeguarding referrals received from professionals and the public.
• Liaise with partner agencies (e.g., police, health, education) to gather relevant information for decision-making.
• Analysing risk and protective factors to determine the appropriate level of intervention.
• Make threshold decisions in line with local safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
• Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for next steps, including Early Help, Child in Need, or Child Protection pathways.
• Maintaining accurate and timely case records using case management systems.

Skills and requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Post-qualified experience in MASH, child protection, or frontline children’s services.
• Free DBS and compliance service.
