The Software Developer position in Computer Science centres on maintaining high-performance software applications primarily using C++. It would suit someone who can bring careful technical judgement and practical problem-solving to the role.

Role overview

Be joining a collaborative engineering team working on technically complex products used around the world. Develop, maintain and support Linux-based software environments including U-Boot, Linux Kernel, rootfs and Buildroot components.

Technical work involved

Maintain high-performance software applications primarily using C++. Work on software systems that interface closely with specialist hardware products. Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design through to testing and release.

Technical skills and experience

• Commercial software engineering experience is required.
• Software development experience with the relevant language, framework, or platform is important.

Job details

• Cambridge (initially 5 days per week during onboarding, then 2 to 3 days per week in the office).
• £33,000 to £65,000 per annum + benefits.
• Understanding of embedded Linux systems and software deployment environments.
• Understanding of how software interacts with hardware systems.
