Software Engineer

This Software Developer opportunity is built around building or support Java backend services with technical follow-through. It would suit someone who can bring careful technical judgement and practical problem-solving to the role.

To achieve this mission, RMS draws on its core capabilities in advanced platforms and weapons, C4ISR, global sustainment, training and sensors. We’re expanding our team in Gloucester and have multiple opportunities for talented Software Engineers to join us across a variety of Defence, Cyber and Intelligence programmes.

How the role works day to day

We are an employer in support of and offering Flexible working with the option to also work a 4 day week depending on business requirements, where you have the option of Fridays of.

Practical details

• Understanding of AWS Services such as EC2, EKS, Fargate, IAM, S3, Lambda.
• Developing software for microservice and or serverless architectures.
• Proficient in current Java, knowledge of other languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, React is a bonus.
• Appreciation of mocking and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit (Jupiter).

• Pay: £44,500 - £55,000
