Sous Chef
Sous Chef focuses on supporting the head chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
What the role involves
- Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Leading and motivate the kitchen, promoting consistency, quality and teamwork.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standard.
- Maintaining strong control over food quality, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Assisting with menu development, seasonal changes and special event menus.
- Managing stock control, ordering and wastage to maintain GP targets.
Skills and requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire.
- Excellent knowledge of fresh, seasonal ingredients and modern cooking techniques.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a busy service environment.
