Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant focuses on providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with sen.

What the role involves

• Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning needs.
• Assisting children in accessing the curriculum by modifying resources.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and self-regulation.
• Helping pupils develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Observing and recording pupil progress for SENCOs and teachers.

Skills and requirements

• Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.
