This Teaching Assistant opportunity is built around overseeing and monitor a weekly small-group social skills session (3-4 pupils), designed to. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.
Who the work supports
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to provide specialist, EHCP-led support for a young person in the Hornchurch (RM12) area. Social communication and interaction challenges Key Responsibilities Deliver direct speech and language therapy of no less than 90 minutes per week.
How support shows up
Overseeing and monitor a weekly small-group social skills session (3-4 pupils), designed to:. Complete annual reassessment of the young person (approximately 2 hours per year). Be delivered weekly for 10 minutes by a Teaching Assistant, with termly SLT monitoring.
What needs to be in place
- Therapy delivered in alternative settings (school and/or home) within RM12.
- All safeguarding and vetting checks must be completed prior to starting.
- Experience delivering therapy in line with EHCP outcomes.
Job details
- Experience using Talk Tools and PROMPT is essential.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
