Sports Coach (Primary)

Sports Coach focuses on supporting teachers with classroom tasks and daily learning activities.

What the role involves

• Supporting teachers with classroom tasks and daily learning activities.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage engagement and participation.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm classroom environment.
• Use coaching and mentoring skills to motivate and encourage younger learners.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.
• Help pupils develop confidence, teamwork and social skills.

Confirmed role details

• £460 – £650 per week.
• Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day.
• GSL Education is seeking enthusiastic and proactive individuals with a background in sports, coaching, fitness, or mentoring to support primary schools across Barnsley.
• These are school-based support roles where you will work closely with younger pupils throughout the school day, helping them stay engaged, confident and focused within the classroo.

Additional role context

• Learning Support (Primary), you will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, helping to create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Work alongside class teachers to support learning activities, promote positive behaviour and help children build confidence socially and academically.
• You may also provide targeted support for pupils who require additional guidance throughout the school day.
