What the role involves
- Review medications in line with national guidelines and charity-specific clinical governance, including.
- Monitoring client progress, side effects, and risk, ensuring safe and person-centred prescribing decisions.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to wider staff teams on substance misuse treatment, withdrawal management, and safeguarding.
- Build therapeutic, non-judgmental relationships with clients and work collaboratively to develop meaningful recovery goals.
- Supporting service users through detoxification, stabilisation, relapse prevention and longer-term recovery plans.
- Work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team including recovery workers, peer mentors, GPs, psychiatrists, nurses, and social care professionals.
Skills and requirements
- Previous work experience within the voluntary/community sector.
- In physical health interventions such as venepuncture, ECGs, or point-of-care testing.
- Experience working with complex needs, dual diagnosis, or individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Competitive pay rates and weekly payments.
Candidate fit
- Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Paramedic, or Allied Health Professional with active professional registration (NMC/GPhC/HCPC).
- V300 Independent Prescribing qualification with evidence of safe autonomous practice.
