Job description
This Support Worker role is focused on andy is 24 years old and lives independently with the support of carers in a residential care home in Bracknell. It would suit someone who can bring building up a relationship will be gradual, and you must be confident organising activities both in and outside of Andy’s residential care home to the role.
Where the work sits
Andy is a sociable young man who enjoys a wide range of interests such as music, hydro / swimming, and target practice games. He has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a severe learning disability, speech and language difficulties, epilepsy, and a partial sight impairment.
How the role works day to day
Andy is 24 years old and lives independently with the support of carers in a residential care home in Bracknell. Andy is a wheelchair user and requires support with all activities of daily living including personal care. He is very much looking forward to a Support Worker / Buddy coming on board to support him in participating in activities.
What helps in this setting
Building up a relationship will be gradual, and you must be confident organising activities both in and outside of Andy’s residential care home. Be fun, positive, friendly, and an active Support Worker / Buddy, who is reliable, organsied, and enjoys planning and researching new activities for your client to enjoy.
Practical details
- Is offering a permanent contract, bespoke person-centered training, and ongoing supervision from Andy’s case manager.
- Additional detail: Training or development support may be provided.
