Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Southend. As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
What helps in this care setting
You must be patient, empathetic with a sense of humour and fun. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Care skills and requirements
- Some experience of dementia is preferable.
- Personal care – supporting individuals to bed at their chosen time, carrying out regular checks and supporting them to use the bathroom as required.
- Relevant care, clinical, support, registration, DBS, or safeguarding requirements may apply.
Practical details
- The contracts available are Part Time and Waking Night roles.
- The waking night shift starts at 10pm and finishes at 7am, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support which includes.
- Waking night support worker: 36 hours and 27 hours - flexible hours based on availability.
- Daytime support worker: Part Time 30 hours.
