Support Worker focuses on promote independence, life skills and informed choice in line with individual support plans.

What the role involves

  • Promote independence, life skills and informed choice in line with individual support plans.
  • Supporting individuals to communicate their needs and preferences using appropriate communication approaches.
  • Maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times in line with GDPR and organisational policy.
  • Administer medication following competency assessment.
  • Supporting with health, wellbeing and personal care, including continence care if required.
  • Provide emotional support during challenging or difficult times.

Skills and requirements

  • Willingness to complete all required training.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities or Complex Needs.
  • Experience assisting individuals with mobility or physical health needs.
