An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and committed Teacher of Economics to join a highly regarded independent school in Chelmsford (Essex). This is an excellent role for an Economics specialist who enjoys academic rigour and wants to work with motivated pupils in a calm, purposeful environment where high standards, intellectual curiosity and strong progression are central to school life.

About the Role

As Teacher of Economics, you will teach primarily at KS5, with the potential for KS4 teaching depending on the school’s curriculum. You will deliver ambitious lessons that develop strong economic understanding, analytical thinking and confident exam technique.

You will support pupils to:

  • Understand and apply key micro and macroeconomic concepts

  • Interpret data confidently and use diagrams accurately

  • Evaluate arguments and write well-structured extended responses

  • Engage with real-world economics through current affairs and case studies

  • Build exam confidence through modelling, deliberate practice and feedback

Economics is a valued subject within the school, particularly for pupils considering progression into economics, finance, politics and business-related degrees. The department is collaborative and well organised, with shared planning and a strong focus on stretch, scholarship and high outcomes.
