Job description

The department has an excellent record in exam results, with students achieving high value added scores at GCSE and A Level. We teach the AQA syllabus for both Design & Technology and Food & Nutrition. Both subjects are taught at KS3.

The department is housed in purpose built workshops which are very well equipped. Food will be taught in a new bespoke kitchen from September.

The department is also active outside the classroom, successfully entering a number of regional and national competitions.

Both D&T and Food & Nutrition are very popular and are regarded as flagship subjects.

We are currently seeking to recruit 1.5 FTE across the Food and Design & Technology department from September 2026 onwards. Within this FTE we also have the opportunity for a Food and Nutrition Responsibility allowance. This additional responsibility will see the appointed candidate lead the Food offering at KS4.

Candidates wishing to apply will need to stipulate their desired FTE and if they wish to be considered for the responsibility allowance.
