Teaching Assistant
Job description
This Teaching Assistant opportunity is built around supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND. It would suit someone who can bring warm, reliable, and clear in communication to the role.
How the role is set up
Working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning in both the classroom and small‑group settings. Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracyNVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
Where someone would start
Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND. Also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required. Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources.

Warm, reliable, and clear in communication.
What is expected
- Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
- Ability to relate well to both children and adults.
- Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
Job details
- NJC Grade C: £25,989 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked).
- This is a fixed term position working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year until 31st May 2027 (Monday to Friday).
- Sticklepath Community Primary Academy are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years and Hub team to support an individual pupil in the classro.
