Teaching Assistant – County Durham Secondary Schools

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across County Durham. If you have a Level 3 qualification or relevant experience working with young people, this could be the perfect role for you.
You'll support students in lessons, work with individuals and small groups who need extra help, and contribute to creating positive classroom environments. This role suits experienced TAs looking for new opportunities as well as those with the right qualifications ready to start their journey in education.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students who need additional help
- Assisting teachers with classroom management and resources
- Helping students with SEND, including those with learning difficulties or behavioural needs
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment
You need:
- Level 3 qualification or relevant experience working with children or young people in educational settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
