Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant focuses on work closely with pupils who require additional support, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

What the role involves

• Work closely with pupils who require additional support, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
• You may support pupils with autism spectrum condition, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social and emotional difficulties.
• Assist the class teacher and SENCo in implementing personalised learning strategies, supporting academic progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils will be key, helping them to develop independence and resilience.
• Also support with classroom preparation, intervention sessions, and monitoring progress.

Skills and requirements

• This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support or someone looking to develop a career within education and SEND.
• Has experience working with children with SEN (desirable).
