Technical Manager
Job description
This Technical Manager role is focused on owning and governing the Permit-to-Work (PTW) process, including hot work, electrical HV/LV, Fuel Installations, Confined Space, Working at Height and other high risk activities. It would suit someone who can bring strong professional approach to the role.
What the work leans on
As a Technical Manager, you will act as the subject matter expert for Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) across a multitude of QinetiQ sites. This role is 37 hours per week and can based at our Amesbury, Farnborough or Bristol site.
Where the technical work sits
- Owning and governing the Permit-to-Work (PTW) process, including hot work, electrical HV/LV, Fuel Installations, Confined Space, Working at Height and other high risk activities.
- Supporting and advising Authorised Persons and technical specialists in the safe planning and execution of works.
- Leading and managing the organisation’s SSoW framework.
Technical requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, building services, etc.).
- Knowledge of engineering systems: electrical, mechanical, pressure systems.
- Formal Authorised Person (AP) training in relevant disciplines (Electrical, Confined Space, Mechanical, etc.).
