Trauma Informed Practitioner focuses on provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils.

What the role involves

  • Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils.
  • Implement trauma-informed strategies and interventions.
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive coping skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing practices.

Skills and requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
