This Project Manager role in Birmingham is focused on encourage the reporting of incidents and near misses by team members and will report regular safety observations to enable learning and improvement. It would suit someone who can bring strong leadership and operational judgement to the role.
Where the work sits
The team has approximately 15 - 20 engineers and a pipeline of exciting and challenging design projects in the UK and abroad. The AECOM Tunnelling team is looking for an individual to lead our growing Tunnelling and Underground Structures Team in Birmingham.
How the role works day to day
Encourage the reporting of incidents and near misses by team members and will report regular safety observations to enable learning and improvement. Safety culture and performance : You will ensure safety is the primary concern of all team members working in the office or on-site. We develop projects from concept through operation providing engineering and construction services for multiyear, multimillion-dollar projects for major rail and transit agencies.

What needs to be in place
- Information reported on will included leading and lagging indicators of safety, financial performance, work pipeline and any other issues as they impact ability to deliver.
- Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant field such as Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, coupled with post graduate experience in a Leadership role with a Tunnelling team.
- Previous experience in rock and soft ground and encompassing tunnels, shafts and deep excavations for transportation, energy and utility related schemes.
