- Performing scheduled maintenance, servicing, and general repairs on welfare units, covering both interior and exterior components.
- Inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical systems, including generators, lighting, and heating units, ensuring full functionality and compliance.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Restoring welfare units to the required standard through repair, replacement, and finishing work, ensuring safety and presentability.
- Cleaning, painting, and carrying out quality control checks to ensure all units are fully operational and ready for immediate hire.
- Maintaining clear and detailed documentation of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Skills and requirements
- The ideal Welfare Unit Fitter will have strong mechanical fitting and maintenance experience, with the ability to efficiently diagnose.
- Competency in working with electrical systems, including testing and minor installations is essential, while experience with welding and light fabrication is desirable.
- A solid understanding of portable welfare units, generators, and heating systems will be highly beneficial.
- A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
