Workshop Plant Fitter
Workshop Plant Fitter focuses on carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components to enable more accurate cost evaluations or for the issue of condition and warranty agreements to customers.
What the role involves
- Carry out standard diagnosis tests on machine components to enable more accurate cost evaluations or for the issue of condition and warranty agreements to customers.
- Repair or refurbishment work on the machine to the agreed work plan, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention, re-installing the original or replacement part or.
- Test completed machine to ensure unit is operating to expected performance levels.
- Ensure the highest quality of finished machines.
- Maintaining availability of machines ready to hire and presentation of machine stock parked in yard.

Skills and requirements
- Produce a comprehensive list of parts and materials required for the proposed machine preparation work.
- Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs on difficult and heavy machinery.
- Either apprentice trained or minimum 5 years’ experience in quality service environment within a similar industry.
- A licence to drive reach trucks is required.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.
- A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with customers.
- Ensure positive feedback/nil customer complaints.
Additional role context
- Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge.
- Preferably with a background plant machinery or similar industries i.e. HGV.
