Job description
Year 1 Teacher focuses on planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the key stage 1 national curriculum.
What the role involves
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
- Supporting pupils’ early development in phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy.
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions.
- Preparing pupils for the Phonics Screening Check.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Providing targeted support for pupils of varying abilities, including SEN.
Skills and requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable.
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or Early Years.
- Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics schemes.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
