What the role involves

  • Identify and gather the correct parts required for assembly operations (Op 10.
  • Inspect components to ensure they match the bill of materials and are free from defects.
  • Preparing parts in line with work orders and engineering drawings for fitting and welding.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly and fitting of components, from small parts to larger machine sections.
  • Operate welding equipment (MIG and basic TIG), ensuring correct parameters are applied.
  • Assemble pipework, including pneumatic and general pipe systems.

Skills and requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Assembly Fitter.
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication & Welding, or equivalent.
  • Experience using a wide range of hand and air tools (grinders, drills, die grinders, etc.).
  • Welding experience (MIG essential, basic TIG desirable).

Confirmed role details

  • Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:15pm.
