Plant Fitter / Welder

What the role involves
- Methodically install, align, and assemble heavy-duty equipment—ranging from bitumen/asphalt storage systems to concrete batching plants.
- Process heating units, and fabricated steel components.
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings, erection plans, and technical schematics.
- Operate plant tools and lifting gear (e.g. hoists, cranes, grinders, welders) safely and efficiently.
- Perform precision welding, cutting, grinding, bolting, and fitting of metal assemblies on-site.
- Test, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, ensuring alignment, functionality, and safety.
Skills and requirements
- Significant experience (typically 3–5+ years) in mechanical installation or plant fitting within heavy engineering, industrial, or civil sectors.
- Clean right to work in the UK.
Confirmed role details
- Saturdays is Pay and a Half, Sundays is Double Pay.
- Exposure to diverse industrial installs, from batching plants to advanced heaters and civils.
- Internal training, progression paths, and multi-skilling.
