What the role involves

• Carry out site inspections to assess compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation on projects up to Registered Building Inspector Class 2F.
• Examine and assess building control applications, plans, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Monitoring the safety and structural stability of buildings and construction projects to protect public safety.
• Maintaining accurate inspection records, reports, photographic evidence, and case documentation in accordance with quality management standards.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to architects, developers, contractors, statutory bodies, and members of the public on building control matters.
• Supporting the delivery of building control services through effective diary management, scheduling, and customer service.

Skills and requirements

• Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2F level, or working towards attaining Class 2F registration under appropriate supervision.
• Substantial experience within a Building Control environment.
• Experience conducting site inspections and assessing compliance on residential and complex commercial developments.
• Resolve building control enforcement matters, including dangerous structures and unauthorised works.
