SPOT/TIG Welder focuses on coordinating and collaborate with other team members or departments to ensure efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
What the role involves
- Coordinating and collaborate with other team members or departments to ensure efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of PPE and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the welding process, such as equipment malfunctions or defects in the welded materials.
- Inspect finished welds to verify they meet internal and external quality standards (NADCAP and AS9100) and adhere to specifications, ensuring structural integrity and quality contr.
- Maintaining records of welding jobs, such as materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered, for quality control and documentation purposes.
- Perform welding operations using various processes, such as TIG or SPOT welding, to join various metal components together.
Skills and requirements
- A demonstrated successful track record in welding.
- Experience meeting and working towards production targets.
- Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
- NVQ, or qualification in an engineering discipline.
Confirmed role details
- 185 hours holidays per annum with an option to buy/sell up to 37 hours holiday every year.
- 37 hour working week, short day Fridays & 4 day week for night shift workers and all Bank Holidays.
